Tagging allows you to add informal categories to lots of things on the website -- posts, topics, photos - and even other members. You could use this as a kind of bookmarking system, or a way to let other users know what you think of something -- especially if lots of users create the same tag for something. To add tags, just click on the plus signs in boxes, usually at the top right of the item. Then enter any list of tags, separated by spaces. It could be things like funny or interesting or anything you like. If you want to use multiple words for one tag, use a dash to join them together, e.g. best-friend. Once you've added a tag, it will be immediately visible next to the thing you've tagged. You can click on the tag to see other things tagged the same -- e.g. the 'useful' tag at the top right of this post. If you click on the number beside it, it will show you who created the tags (the number is the number of people who have added that tag for that item). You can browse and search all tags. If you go to your personal home page (the link in the top right corner of the page), you can get a list of tags that you have created, as well as see what things people have tagged you as. (For those who know about feeds you can even get a feed for any tag).
